Why Should I Become a Volunteer?
ILLAM is an organization that aims to develop good character in all participants involved – player, parent, coach, etc. True to the Little League concept, ILLAM is a leadership program, preparing our children to become tomorrow’s leaders.
Just like any other volunteer program, the results are what participants put in. Thus, ILLAM relies on our devoted baseball parents or adult volunteers to help ensure that the organization is run properly and with the overall experience of the player in mind. The benefits of participation are endless for the parents and children. ILLAM encourages you to make a difference in your child’s ILLAM experience.
Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone can volunteer, whether for love of child or love of game! The talents and skills you have are valuable to ILLAM! Volunteers are grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, retirees, community leaders, former Little Leaguers, friends, sports enthusiasts, and more.
Parents of children participating in ILLAM are strongly encouraged to volunteer. As a parent, volunteer, you have the opportunity to spend quality time with your child in a safe, fun-filled environment. Oftentimes, parent and child social lives parallel each other. Volunteering allows your life and your child’s life to intersect on common ground, with shared interests and goals.
Having the best interest of the children involved, ILLAM reserves the right to deny individuals the privilege of volunteering for any valid reason that is viewed as detrimental to the positive development of the children, other volunteers, and/or ILLAM. When you apply to become a volunteer, you give ILLAM the right to perform the necessary background checks.
How Do I Become A Volunteer?
Parents can indicate their interest in volunteering when filling up the registration form for their child. Alternately, interested individuals can contact ILLAM directly.
What Can I Volunteer To Do?
No experience is required to become a volunteer. Most of the volunteer opportunities require little or no training. ILLAM will support volunteers in making the most out of the ILLAM position the volunteer takes the time to do. The best volunteers are those who know the value of a team in terms of creating friendships and creating an environment filled with joy and learning. You can volunteer to help in virtually any aspect of Little League Baseball or Softball.
